AimThis study used a randomized controlled trial design and was carried out to examine the effect of education on diabetes self-management and self-efficacy in patients with type 2 diabetes.MethodsThe study was carried out between July 2016–March 2017. Data were collected using information form, Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ), self-efficacy scale for patients with type 2 diabetes (DSS).The individuals in the experimental group were given education. Both groups were reminded about the control time of their metabolic values on the phone in the 3rd and 6th months.ResultsThe average age of the individuals was 59.91 ± 8.93 (n = 78), 62.8% (n = 49) were female, 92.3% (n = 72), were married, 42.3% (n = 33) were high school graduates and their diabetes duration was 7.05 ± 3.9. There was a statistically significant difference in the 6th month metabolic values in the experimental group compared to the control group. When diabetes self-management and self-efficacy were examined, a statistically significant difference was found in the experimental group compared to the control group at 3rd and 6th months (p < 0.05, p < 0.01).ConclusionIn this study, a significant increase in diabetes self-management and self-efficacy and a significant decrease in metabolic values were observed as a result of education and phone reminders given to individuals with type 2 diabetes.  相似文献

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental pathology with polymorphous symptoms that have an invalidating impact on an emotional, interpersonal, behavioural and social level. In certain cases this pathology can increase the risk of self-harm or harm to others, making it necessary to put protocoles in place for specifically-adapted treatment, put forward notably by care units that deal with dangerous patients. The patient's therapeutic education, orientated towards acquiring knowledge about the illness and skills for dealing with it in day-to-day life, is now a recognised practice, having proven its effectiveness in the treatment of chronic psychiatric patients. There is significant interest in this method for treating dangerous mental patients. The Clinical Neuropsychology Synarchy (CNS) interfaces with the American Psychological Association and affiliated organizations to address issues and advances in specialty training. The past several years have seen the development and dissemination of several initiatives pertinent to specialty training. Among these initiatives was the creation of a taxonomy for education and training in clinical neuropsychology. In additional there has been a movement toward competency-based education that has become codified in the APA’s new Standards for Accreditation. Calls for competency-based education have also influenced the expectations of the APA’s Committee on Recognition of Specialties and Proficiencies in Professional Psychology. As the convener of national clinical neuropsychology organizations, the CNS has overseen the development of relevant documents for our specialty. This paper presents three documents critical to training in our field that were developed through the CNS and approved by its member organizations. The first is the Taxonomy for Education and Training in Clinical Neuropsychology. The second is Entry Level Competencies for Clinical Neuropsychology and the third is a distillation of the entry-level competency document for the purpose of identifying competencies to be addressed at the post-doctoral residency level.  相似文献

Condyle repositioning during bilateral sagittal splint osteotomy (BSSO) is a challenging step for the inexperienced surgeon. We aimed to demonstrate the benefit of navigation for learning the condyle repositioning. We treated 100 patients who underwent a BSSO. A trainee performed the condyle repositioning of one side in two phases. In the first one, the trainee positioned without watching the screen of the Orthopilot Navigation system (ONS). In the second one, the trainee could use the ONS to replace the condyle. Heuristic, anatomical and functional scores of each phase were recorded. Heuristic (17% vs. 75%; p < 0.0001), anatomical (35% vs. 86%; p < 0.0001) and functional (14% vs. 56%; p < 0.0001) scores were significantly greater with the ONS. The ONS is a promising and original intraoperative learning tool for the repositioning of the condyle during BSSO.  相似文献

BackgroundRural populations face many health disadvantages compared to urban areas. There is a critical need to better understand the current lung cancer screening landscape in these communities to identify targeted areas to improve the impact of this proven tool.MethodsData from the County Health Rankings of New Hampshire and Vermont was reviewed for population density, distribution of adult smokers, and level of education compared to the distribution of Lung Cancer Screening Facilities throughout these two states.ResultsScreening programs in southern counties of Vermont with lower levels of education have decreased access. In New Hampshire, there are no programs within 30 miles of the areas with the largest distribution of smokers, and decreased access in some areas with the lowest levels of education.ConclusionsImproving equitable access to high-quality screening services in rural regions and the creation of targeted interventions to address decreased access in areas of high tobacco use and low education is vital to decreasing the incidence of latestage presentations of lung cancer within these populations.  相似文献
